The HTML specification does not require all HTML tags, but following closer to form makes for more compliance with HTML and SGML client parsers. See Document Structure for more information. The Header, Body and Footer text areas are concatenated together on export.
The first (and optional) element of an HTML document is the SGML prologue, a declaration of the language used in the document. The <!DOCTYPE> tag has no ending "</>" tag.
The beginning and end of an HTML document is marked with the HTML language tags <HTML> and </HTML>. Note that the command Add HTML Language Tags will eliminate any extra <HTML> or </HTML> tags found anywhere in the document, leaving only <HTML> at the beginning of the Header and </HTML> at the end of the Footer section.
An HTML document header is delimited with the tags <HEAD> and </HEAD>. Note that the command Add HTML Header Tags will eliminate any extra <HEAD> or </HEAD> tags found anywhere in the Header area, leaving only <HEAD> at the beginning and </HEAD> at the end of the Header section.
All HTML documents should have a document title, enclosed by <TITLE> and </TITLE> tags. The command Add HTML Title Tag ignores multiple occurrences of the Title tags within the Header.
From the Header popup menu you can save as and insert from any of the Master Headers.
Insert Master Header
Replaces the current text of the Header with the selected Master Header.
Save As Master Header
Saves the text of the current Header as one of the existing Master Headers. To create a new Master Header, navigate to any Master Header and type Command-N.
Edit Master Headers
Navigates to a selected Master Header to allow viewing and editing.
